Day 1 – Friday 09/02
Welcome to Rio. Today is when most of our guests arrive. Our hotel is located in Lapa, Rio’s colourful centre, where the majority best Carnival events take place. You are free to arrive when you wish but check-in begins at 2 pm. Regardless, our team will be on hand to receive you, make sure you settle in nicely, give you maps, show you your hotel room and take you on an optional tour and orientation walk around the hotel.
Keep in mind that today is the final day for any shopping because major markets and shops will be closed for the carnival. During the carnival, it is customary to adorn fancy and colourful costume (anything goes) to the street parties. Thus, if you did not arrive with any costumes or fancy dress of your own, today you should go costume shopping! Our guides will direct you to where you can get costumes or fancy clothes for the carnival.
Group briefing is slated for 5 pm today (converge at the hotel lobby) where you will be handed a pocket schedule of all the events and times. Once this meeting is wrapped up, the partying will begin. Caipirinha cocktails for everyone! After a strong drink and perfection of your samba moves in a samba class, we will storm the streets of Rio in style! Our guides will be on hand to accompany you to the best events in the city. Tonight is officially the first night of carnival – the streets will be buzzing!!
INCLUDED DAY 1: Orientation walk, Group Samba Class, Caipirinha welcome cocktail, Partying with the samba schools on Av. Presidente Vargas escorted by guide, Night out in Rio escorted by guide.
Day 2 – Saturday – 10/02
In the morning, like with every other, as you enjoy breakfast, our guides will be around to inform you about today’s activities and what is lined up.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy an included lunch and board the amazing schooner boat where we will spend the next 4 hours cruising around Rio’s beautiful Guanabara Bay! As we return just before the sun sets, you will have a chance to see the city from a unique and fantastic angle as the sun slowly sets over this amazing city with breathtaking sights of Sugarloaf and Christ. On the cruise, there will bathrooms, music, chill-out areas, dance-floor, and an open bar for the first hour of the cruise and then bar service for the duration of the entire cruise.
After the cruise, we will return to the hotel to get ready and pumped up for another big night in Rio. Our guides will be available to give you all the possible options for the night.
INCLUDED DAY 2: Breakfast, Bloco street party escorted by guide, included Lunch & Boat Party Cruise around Bay (Open bar for 1 hour). Night out in Rio escorted by guide.
Day 3 – Sunday – 11/02
As usual, our guides will be at your service during breakfast to tell you about the amazing places you could visit for the day. Also, if you wish to try something else or perhaps enjoy the sun and scenery at the beach, you may convene at the lobby by 10am so that a guide can lead you to the metro (underground) to the best areas of the Leblon/Ipanema beach.
If you are down for some partying, our guides will escort you to the most electrifying bloco parties on offer today.
Tonight is when the main event of the week takes place: Sunday Night Parade at the Sambadrome!!! – this is the time when the best samba dance schools show off their moves and costumes as they elegantly match the runway while we all watch in amazement from above.
EVERYBODY will convene in the lobby where we will have a pre-drink and the chance to have our faces painted by a very skilled artist. Also, you may consider dressing up in your best costume or Carnival themed attire as our photographer will be close by to capture all the memorable moments. Just before we head to the Sambadrome, we will first make a meal stop at Rio’s famous Churrasco BBQ restaurants to line your stomach before the big night. This dinner should keep us going the whole night and into the very early hours of the morning.
Once at the Sambadrome, you’ll notice that the local Cariocas are very passionate supporters of their samba school. They will cheer them all night with anthems and a lot of singing and dancing, you’ll be amazed by the passionate local support. Our group has the Section 12-13 tickets (not the most amazing view, but still very much lively). This section is located at the extreme end of the runway and it is also one of the most amazing locations to watch the event from. There are no designated seating positions, everybody stands and cheers the samba dance schools as they parade the runway to the finish line! Even if these seats are not awesome, you can still make the best of it as the chances are high that you can salvage an abandoned costume to rock to the main event later at night or take home with you. This is because many of the dancers take off their costumes and leave them behind near our section.
INCLUDED DAY 3: breakfast, Group Trip to Ipanema Beach, Bloco street party with guide escort, Sambadrome Parade Ticket Sectors 12-13 with an escort to and from the hotel, pre-event drinks, face-painting and an All-you-can-eat Brazilian BBQ from Churrasco dinner.

Come along with drinks, hats and water pistol. Also, wear swimwear under your clothes, it can get a little wet from all the water pistols.
If you would like to visit the beach as a group, our guide will escort you to the popular Copacabana beach straight from this bloco. This trip will end with a beautiful view of us watching the sunset over the beach from ontop the Arpoador Rocks. For those who are keen on exploring more of Rio’s south, there will be night markets and some parties in Copacabana that our guides can direct you to.

After Corcovado we will head to Santa Teresa where our guides will show you the amazing architecture of old the days in Rio and the beautiful miniature art galleries and the alluring local trams. Next, we will visit the Steps of Selaron in Lapa, one of the best Brazilian Homages you will ever find, words alone cannot aptly describe this amazing work of street-art. Finally, we will head to the Sugarloaf Mountain! We board a cable car which will take us to the top of the Urca Hill (215 metres) which presents a great view of Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niteroi Bridge and the Christ above the city. About the samba parade (USD 380 PP extra)
This is your chance to not only go to Rio Carnival but also to be part of it. You will receive your very own costume, then join one of the performing schools to participate in one of the greatest spectacles in the world! After the performance, you will be able to keep your costume to take home as a souvenir of the day you participated in the most famous Carnival parade on earth.
The parade will be on the Saturday night during Carnival, and you will be given a time and place to meet, before changing into your costume. Then you will go to the starting point to join a group of about 70 other individuals wearing the exact same outfit before parading in the section of the school called the Alas (Wing). You will dance along the Sambadrome for about 40 minutes and you just need to follow the guidelines of your coordinator.
There is no age limitation and you do not need to know how to dance, you just need to enjoy yourself moving to the rhythm of the drums. By signing up with a Samba School via us, you will experience one of the highlights of Rio Carnival up-close and personal.
